Preparation of the printing form (plate making / cylinder engraving)

In the flexible packaging industry, print quality represents not only an aesthetic but also a functional criterion—a decisive factor in creating a recognizable, reliable, and market-competitive product. Tipoplastika recognized this need as strategically important decades ago and today operates one of the most advanced in-house gravure cylinder engraving lines, ensuring complete internal process control, from design to finished packaging.

In-house cylinder production line – uncompromising control and speed

Unlike manufacturers who largely rely on external suppliers for plate making, Tipoplastika has invested in a complete gravure cylinder production line, providing clients with:

  • Shorter delivery times for finished products
  • Full flexibility in design and quality control
  • Reduced risk of errors and deviations in printing

The cylinder preparation process includes:

🔹 Copper plating – electrolytic deposition of a copper layer onto the cylinder, forming the basis for precise engraving.
🔹 Electromechanical engraving – utilizing Deatwyler and Hell equipment, world leaders in this field, ensuring top resolution and consistent reproduction of the finest details.
🔹 Chroming – final protective treatment that extends cylinder life and guarantees consistent print quality even in large production runs.
🔹 Polishing – mechanical surface finishing to achieve a high degree of smoothness, which is crucial for accurate ink transfer and stable color reproduction during printing.

This technology enables high-definition printing, minimal color variations, and sharpness that meets even the most demanding brand standards—especially for the food and chemical industries.

Machinery – Integration with BOBST printing lines

Tipoplastika operates state-of-the-art gravure and flexo presses directly connected with the in-house cylinder production line. The key machine is the BOBST RS 6003C HS, a highly automated rotogravure press providing:

✅ Printing up to 9 colors in 7+2 and 8+1 configurations
Maximum speed up to 400 m/min
TAPS register control system before printing starts
✅ 100% automatic print inspection
✅ Printing of matte and heat-seal lacquers in register

Additionally, BOBST presses feature Smart GPS—a digital system for print preparation and synchronization, allowing minimal waste and rapid startup even for complex jobs.

Materials and packaging – from pharmaceuticals to food

What further sets Tipoplastika apart is the broad range of materials and flexibility in customizing packaging for its intended use. Tipoplastika prints and converts various material combinations:

  • PET / AL / PE, OPP / MET OPP, Paper / PE, OPA / PE, and other multilayer structures
  • For food packaging (coffee, pasta, snacks, candies, vacuum packaging)
  • And for non-food applications (crop protection products, chemicals, pharmaceutical preparations, cosmetics)

Thanks to precise plate making and top-tier equipment, Tipoplastika ensures:

  • High barrier to oxygen, vapor, light, fats, and odors
  • Resistance to low temperatures and aggressive substances
  • Easy opening (easy open) and preservation of aroma and freshness

Why is this important for the customer?

By investing in in-house printing form preparation, Tipoplastika provides customers with superior print quality and greater confidence in the final product. For brands that insist on perfect color, fine design lines, and packaging that sells the product at first glance, this technology is indispensable.

Faster time-to-market – no external dependencies, print starts immediately

Greater consistency and stable print quality in every production run

Fewer errors and complaints – precise forms mean fewer deviations

Ability for test printing and safer development of new packaging solutions

Synergy of Expertise, Equipment, and Control

From precise cylinder production and automated multicolor printing to finishing, Tipoplastika manages the entire production chain under one roof. This is not only a guarantee of quality—it is a promise of efficiency, speed, and reliability that every client can expect.

At Tipoplastika, printing is not just technology. It is a strategy for your product's success on the market.
